October 3, 2007 - Vancouver, British Columbia: Riverside Resources Inc. TSX.V: RRI is pleased to announce that it has acquired a 100% interest in the Chapalota Property, which covers 91 square kilometers in southern Sinaloa, Mexico and is along trend with nearby gold and copper systems, including the Magistral Gold Mine and the Realito Copper Mine.

Riverside Resources staked the area based on previously known gold anomalies and the results of high gold assays on small in-lier concessions. The main Chapalota auriferous structural zone is a 50-60m wide shear zone containing quartz veins and sulfide dissemination similar to those found in the Mesquite (>5 M oz produced) and Herradura (>4M oz produced) gold mines and like those mines the mineralization at Chapalota is hosted by a Jurassic metamorphic sequence. There are numerous tahonas (artesanal gold recovery areas) present on the property where 'gambusinos" worked lode and placer gold.

The Riverside Resources Exploration Team is actively progressing its generative program in Mexico where the company believes it can acquire and test cost effectively, quality mineral properties. John-Mark Staude, President and CEO states, "We are passionate and optimistic about our Mexico generative program and are pleased to announce our first gold property acquisition as Riverside's Mexico team works to build a quality mineral property portfolio. Finding another Herradura or Mesquite Mine would be excellent for Riverside stakeholders. The exploration team has been successful in the past in finding deposits that become mines and we hope to do this again."

As well as the work in Mexico, Riverside continues the diamond core drilling program announced last week for Scheelite Dome Gold Project. The drilling is progressing and the team is on site to interpret the geology and continue working on the drill targeting and program.
